Kaspersky Plus Internet Security Review

Being installed Kaspersky Plus Internet Security 2024 I already had Webroot Antivirus with Spy Sweeper and NOD32 Antivirus installed so I wonder if any issues would take place and actually they did. Kaspersky detected Webroot first, see screenshot

Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 vs Webroot Antivirus

I uninstalled the software manually and clicked next button. As expected the software detected NOD32 Antivirus and demanded me to uninstall it also. I suppose any antivirus and antimalware software can not run simultaneously with Kaspersky so it better to uninstall any beforehand.
Before actual install the software showed me the following message:

I did not want to risk and rebooted. After reboot before Explorer loaded the installation began. As I am using commercial license I was advised to enter activation code. Standard license is 365 days and can be installed up to 3 computers.

Kaspersky Plus Internet Security 2024 interface and features

When you first run the software databases are updated automatically, so it is better wait and when databases are completely updated run a full scan of your system. The scan may take a while so you can set "shut down the computer" when the scan is completed.

The GUI of the program has been significantly changed since the previous version. Below the Plus Internet Security 2024 text there is a new option of the program "Cloud Protection". This is a brand new feature designed by Kaspersky lab, the idea is the following. When unrecognized or unknown virus is detected by Kaspersky on your computer it is automatically sent to analyst team. Potential threat is analyzed in real-time and when solution is found added to the future database update.

- Web filter which blocks dangerous and suspicious sites
- Digital identity protection
- Applications control. Prevent dangerous applications to harm your system
- System watcher. Analyze all events running in the system
- Safe run for applications and websites. If you are not 100% sure in some software you can run it in special virtual environment which so they can not harm the system
- System restoration in case of infection and special tools to disinfect most difficult viruses
- Parental control

What is new in Kaspersky Plus Internet Security 2024

- URL advisor. When you browse internet you will see "K" button next to every website. Kaspersky antivirus checks every site and mark it as suspicious or safe to browse. The following browsers are supported: Internet Explorer 6,7,8 and 9, Mozilla FireFox 2.x, 3.x and 4.x, Google Chrome 7.x and 8.x

- Check reputation of any file by sending it to KSN (Kaspersky Security Network). Just right-click on suspicious file and choose "Check reputation in KSN".

- Visualization of "Cloud" technology.

- Kaspersky analyzes all running applications on your system and sends results to the "cloud". The analyst team checks them and if the program is detected as malicious Kaspesky lab add it to the list of potential threat to the future database update.

- Kaspersky updates only active components of the program. It means that if you disabled "antispam" option the program will not download update for this option, ss soon as this option is enabled updates will be downloaded. It helps to minimize the time for downloading the update.

- Regarding new "Cloud" technology there is no need to train the program for antispam messages. The examples of anti-spam messages are taken from the participants of KSN.

- Task manager. Brand new feature which shows tasks executed by the applications.
I noticed one useful feature for people who frequently buy online or use registration forms. This option is "Virtual Keyboard". When you type your personal data using hardware keyboard this information can be intercepted by key loggers (the key stroke register programs). Virtual keyboard prevents this interception, you can find it from the main program window or right in the browser.
