BitDefender Internet Security 2024 Review

Before actual install BitDefender Internet Security 2024 will scan your system files for viruses as shown on the screenshot:

The installation was not smooth as I faced the following error message: “BitDefender 2024 cannot be installed on your operating system”.

BitDefender 2012 cannot be installed on your operating system

My test operating system is Windows XP SP2 and BitDefender Internet Security 2024 cannot be installed on SP2, so you have to update it to SP3.

BitDefender Internet Security 2024 is one of the best antivirus and antimalware software you can find on the market today. According to AV-Test.org statistic Bitdefender is the leader among antivirus software and protection against malware infection.

If you have used the previous versions of BitDefender the first thing you would note about the new version would be the new interface in comparison with Internet Security 2024. Completely redesigned it looks more professional and easier to use.

In terms of memory usage I have found the following running BitDefender processes:

- bdagent.exe (BitDefender Agent) about 2 Mb of memory usage
- odscanui.exe (BitDefender Antivirus Scanner) about 72 Mb of memory usage
- seccenter.exe (BitDefender Security Center) about 1 Mb of memory usage.

As you can see the software is not very "heavy" in system requirements.

New features in BitDefender Internet Security 2024 include:

- Autopilot. The sort of a silent mode, so when it's activated the software will make decisions without user interruption, pop-up windows and so on.

- Vulnerability scan. Monitors Microsoft Windows updates and other applications updates to ensure that your computer is not vulnerable to known exploits.

BitDefender Internet Security 2024 protects the system against malware software and viruses pretty well, you can watch a video tutorial with the real malware tests below. The software doesn't require much memory for running its processes and as a result doesn't slow down your system. Full system scan of 600 Gb drive with the average speed of 200 files/second lasted about 30 minutes. According to other review sites Bitdefender is definitely one of the best antivirus software, I would recommend everyone to use.

Though Bitdefender Internet Security 2024 allows you to boot into rescue mode you cannot create Bitdefender rescue disc which will be of much help in case your computer is completely unbootable due to virus or malware affect.
